Laura Martinez, Transdisciplinary Psychologist
About Laura
Laura combines innovative approaches that integrate child psychology with play, art, and movement, offering a therapeutic space where children and adolescents can express themselves authentically and freely. As an art therapist, she uses expressive arts as key tools to foster emotional development and communication. Through painting, music, dance, theater, writing, and poetry, she enables young individuals to explore their emotions, experiences, and challenges, even those that are difficult to verbalize.
For Laura, expressive arts have always been part of humanity, and during childhood, they represent a natural and direct pathway to connection and expression. These open forms of communication allow both verbal and non-verbal aspects to find their place in therapy. In this approach, the body plays a central role: sometimes as a protagonist, as in dance and movement, and other times as a facilitator that supports and connects the mind with emotions.
Psychomotor therapy is another fundamental pillar of Laura’s work. She considers the body as a reflection of our personal history, the bridge between our internal and external worlds. Every experience, from conception to the present, is registered in the body. Through psychomotricity, Laura helps children rebuild, redefine, and process narratives from a sensory and emotional perspective. This process not only supports their development but also helps them fully integrate into their family, school, and social environments.
Laura’s passion lies in understanding the stories that every movement and bodily expression can reveal. For children with unique sensitivities, this approach is particularly valuable, as it allows them to discover new and unique ways to relate to themselves and the world around them.
In the therapeutic space Laura creates, every child is welcomed with respect, empathy, and understanding. Her approach, based on the arts and movement, is an invitation to connect with the body, listen to what it needs to communicate, and explore new ways of “being in the world,” fostering integral well-being and personal growth in every young individual.
